JP Grabenstetter Construction did a fantastic job with my basement remodel. The quoting process was simple and most importantly John listed to what I wanted. Several other contractors just quoted the high end of the range I was willing to spend (or above), not knowing that I intentionally inflated the range for the quoting process to see what I would get back. I had a very good idea what the market rates are for this type of work and John was right in that range with a fair and honest quote versus trying to gouge the price. The billing and scheduling was very well run with pay as you go and weekly updates as to what was on schedule the following week. The basement was a blank slate when they started and the finished product turned out great. The team was able to take the vision that I had for the space, and make it happen. All of the team members that we interacted with were very courteous, pleasant and could hold a conversation to discuss any questions or concerns. The project was done on time within expectations. The quality of the construction is top notch and actually a much better experience than I had with my actual home builder. If there was a small downside, it's that these guys are not best suited for running usable ethernet cables and you're better off having that done separately. John did try to accommodate the best he could. The team also added board and batten wainscoting to my upstairs powder room and installed a new vanity, both of which turned out great. I would not hesitate to use these guys again. Note, the gym flooring in the pictures was installed by another company; however, JP Grabenstetter was able to install the shoe molding a half inch off the ground so I could easily have the gym floor laid on top of the vinyl plank flooring.

JP Grabenstetter Construction did an amazing job on my basement remodel. The finish is top-notch, they put in a full bathroom which looks fantastic, and the whole process was faster than I expected—without sacrificing quality. Pricing was very reasonable, and there were no surprises along the way. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the way they made the whole experience easy. It felt like working with someone who actually cared about the project, not just the job. Highly recommend if you’re looking for beautiful work, fair pricing, and a contractor who stands by what they do.

John and his crew did a awesome job on our basement. He always kept us up-to-date and on schedule. Total area finished 1,300 sq ft. with plenty of room left over for walk in storage. We definitely recommend JP Grabenstetter Construction to anyone.

We found John via great reviews and his focus on basement renovation. We had been under construction for almost 3 yrs. with a main kitchen project with an inept contractor. To say we were gun-shy on hiring another contractor for the basement is an understatement. After obtaining 3 estimates, John’s came in several thousand less than the others. Not only did John and crew begin earlier than scheduled, they finished earlier as well! Watching the ease of each crew coming in, finishing their work (that is their area of expertise), cleaning up and without any delay, the next crew came in and kept the work going - his crews have been with him for years! Even his payment process is set up in an unbelievably efficient manner. The results speak for themselves - we are thrilled with our new basement apartment; John and team literally transformed the lower level of our home. (See before and after pics). Very thankful we went with John and his team for our basement project. All members of the team were professional, skilled, and kind to us. Communication was great on a weekly basis of what basement items would be finished during the week and they consistently stayed on schedule. Added a full bathroom, entertainment center shelving build-in, and they made selecting materials very easy with recommendations and perfect pairings. Going to tell all of my friends to use JP Grabenstetter!

John and his team did excellent work to transform our unfinished 1960s basement, stairs, and landing leading down to the space into a beautiful, comfortable, and livable space for our family. We were impressed with the skill, personability, and professionalism of his crew, and we appreciated the regular communication and updates about the project and progress. We had multiple other contractors tell us that our vision wasn't workable with the age and condition of the basement, but John worked with us to find the best solution that still fit our budget. JP Grabenstetter's work has added valuable living space to our home, and our family is already putting it to great use!
